Recent empties

I've been hoarding empties for quite some time, so here we go with a good old empties post!

John Masters Organics Lavender Rosemary Shampoo: I love everything about this shampoo but, since I started bleaching my hair I have to use much more shampoo than I used to before, so this just becomes a habit too expensive for me to keep. Curently looking for other shampoos, so let me know if you've got any recommendations!

Heritage Store Rosewater: This is a staple. Definite repurchase.

Living Nature Gentle Makeup Remover*: This was a gift from Botanical Brands at last year's Gorgeously Green Gathering. I was sceptical at first but I now completely rely on this for days when I'm super lazy or days when I'm just wearing a bit of mascara and don't want to wash my entire face. Will repurchase.

George's Aloe Spray Mister: Another staple, another definite repurchase.

The Rose Tree Carrot & Mango Cleansing Butter: Thoroughly enjoyed using this, and I think I've done a review of this before. I'm currently trying out another oil cleanser but this could be a repurchase in the future.

Bloom Remedies Serenity Slumber Body Oil*: Okay, this is about two years old by now so it's about time it ended up in an empties post. I love the scent of this but I think I prefer it in their Pulse Piont Roll-on or Pillow Mist. Will probably not repurchase.

Herbfarmacy Pure Hydration Serum: You'll know by now how much I love this, however, I just cannot afford to spend the money on this, so I've forced my skin into working with another skincare routine. I still miss it, though (Yes, I'm getting emotional over moisturiser). However much it hurts, I probably will not repurchase.

Myroo Starflower & Orange Facial Serum*: LOVE IT. Will repurchase once I've used up a few more of the too many face oils I own right now.

Bodhi & Birch Rosa Rosa Cleanser and Moisturiser Samples*: Ah, Rosa Rosa, how happy you make me. I might want to repurchase the cleanser soon, however I think I've moved away from moisturisers to another moisturising routine for now.

Bodhi & Birch Desert Rose Face Oil Sample*: Bought a full size before I had even run out of this sample.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: I had to try it to see what the hype was about. Yes, it was good. Very good, actually. But I still think I'll stick to my Avril Mascara, which is about a third of the price and also very good.

Hurraw Lip Balms in grapefruit and vanilla: I always have a couple of these strewn in handbags and bedside tables. I think of these two flavours I preferred vanilla, although my current favourite is the mint.

Decorating with things I love

The wall above my sofa has been bare in the three and a half years I've spent in this flat. Today I finally got around to putting up this shelf that's been sitting in my storage room for ages (thanks dad for helping me drill into the concrete wall).

It has hit me lately that, little gold pineapple aside, I hardly have any "traditional" decorations in my home. By traditional I mean little bric-a-bracs that you buy in an interior decoration shop. All the decorative items I own are in one way or another representative of my interests.

Two books by favourite authors, my mum's ABBA record which she graciously let me borrow, a storm trooper helmet, a cross stitch with a Shakespeare quote and a mini Tenth Doctor funko pop. All items that I had put on the within ten minutes of it being hanged. Items that reflect me. Items that make me happy. Items that make me feel at home.

Bodhi & Birch Botanic Dew Hand & Body Wash

Bodhi & Birch released their Botanic Dew Hand & Body Wash* a few weeks ago, and they sent me one in the mail to try out!

The packaging is similar to the Bath & Shower Therapies, only in a lighter bottle. From a layman's point of view the formula is also very similar. It's also super kind to the skin and I have had no problem with dry hands from using this several times a day. However, let's talk about the scent which, let's be real, is what we all want to know about.

At first, it smells a lot like the Mint Thé products, but after a few seconds the mint gives way to a softer, more herbal-y scent. It stays on your hands and body for a while and is really fresh and light. I am a fan!

This has definitely earned its place on my sink, however, at £16 for 200 ml, I think this will have to be an occasional splurge for me, that is, if Alice & White will start stocking it.

Neve Cosmetics Elegantissimi Palette - 2 looks

I bought this beautiful palette by Neve Cosmetics a while ago, and I've basically been using only this since then. Although I feel a little bit guilty towards my loose eyeshadows, this is just too good to not use all the time for all the neutral looks I've wanted to do lately.

I've been doing this really light look for a quick daytime makeup.

And in this look, I've used the same shadows as above and added a little extra for a more defined, smokey outcome.

Little changes

I've made a few little changes in my living room. I had a really quiet day at work recently and spent the time reading interior decorating blogs and got really inspired to do something myself.

This is an Ikea Lack coffee table. I don't think it's an understatement to say that EVERY student and young person in Sweden own at least one of these. They're cheap, easy, practical and blend in practically everywhere. They're also incredibly boring after a while, so I painted the shelf in gold, the same colour I've painted a few other things in. I think it turned out great!

I made a little arrangement in the rather empty window with a couple of nice books and other things I had since before. Here, complete with a cat's butt.

I got a new lamp next to the tv to replace the boring, unassuming one I had before. I've been looking like something like this for a long time and I finally found this on sale, Woop woop!

One photo an hour - Saturday

Fairly self-explanatory. Here we go!

9:00 Woke up and stayed in bed for a long time with my cat and my phone.

10:00 Had breakfast while reading through Bloglovin'

11:00 Cleaned the flat as I was expecting company.

12:00 Took a break from cleaning and browsed ASOS for loafers.

13:00 Took another break from cleaning while I looked through and updated my planner.

14:00 Had a nutritious lunch consisting of cheese sandwiches with creamed caviar.

15:00 Put on proper clothes, and for once, not a single black item.

16:00 Did my makeup, using this lovely palette from Neve Cosmetics.

17:00 Matilda had arrived, and Watson went completely nuts for her.

18:00 Had dinner with Matilda and My. I mean, YUM.

20:00 (forgot to take one at 19) walked through Kalmar, which was showing its best side.

21:00 We finished the day on my sofa with big bags of sweets and Big Fat Quiz of the Year.

Favourite Face Oils

Mmmm, face oils (Homer Simpson voice). My favourite thing. Ever. Material happiness in its purest, most moisturising form. Here are the ones I'm using:

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil
Bought this when it was on sale on Alice and White. It was about 50 percent off, and I had heard so many good things about it that I just had to try it out. Everyone was right, this is a wonderful oil and this little bottle makes me so, so happy.

Suti Nourish Face Oil for Night
Christmas present from last year but still going strong. During the coldest times of winter however, I use this during the day. Sinks in like a dream. Smells fantastic. Just overall yum.

Myroo Starflower and Orange Blossom Skin Boost Facial Serum*
Was given this at the Gorgeously Green Gathering and guys, this is amazing. I recently dropped the bottle in my sink and spilled about half of what I had left, so I will definitely be making an order from Myroo soon. I also want to try their makeup remover.

Bodhi & Birch Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil
Droolworthy. Bought this to use after the sample size we were given at GGG, but I can't actually find the sample bottle, so I guess I'll start using this right away.

Honourable mention to the Bodhi & Birch Neroli Face Oil*, which is also amazing, but which I gifted to my friend while we were in England. She had no face oils, and I had four, so I guessed I could part with one (albeit with a very heavy heart).

Organics at Home Moisturising Serum
Passed on to me by Rachel. This only gets used during the summer months, as it is a very light oil, and it works very well.

Not pictured: raspberry seed oil. This really doesn't smell good. At all. But it works amazingly on my face in the summer. Really need to pick up a bottle.
